The special little beach of Saint Thomas is located approx. 1 km from Karavados village and 11 km from the capital of Argostoli, on the southern part of Kefalonia, famous for its sandy beaches.
Saint Thomas is a unique beach ideal for families with kids as the golden sand, the exotic, interesting landscape, a diving platform and the little paths that ask to be explored are ideal to fill an exciting day! The waters are crystal clear and relatively shallow and warm, great for snorkelling as there are several little caves in the area. For those wanting to chill out with nice views on the beach there is a cafe – bar as well as two tavernas offering local food.
Next to the main beach, there is another equally beautiful but organised beach with sunbeds and umbrellas that you can reach by foot. Allow a few hours to explore the beaches by foot as they have many impressive little corners.
On your way to the beach it is better to park your car at the designated area before the St John’s chapel as you may have difficulty either to reach or return if you go all the way down. Once you park you can visit the chapel before you reach the beach (approx. 80 metres away) There is also a shower and cabin to change on the one side of the beach.
Come here late afternoon after the sunset to relax on the beach and wait for the moon to rise!
If you are looking for a beautiful accommodation just a few meters from the beach, check the eco villa Dion

Love your website! We are coming to stay near Saint Thomas beach in a villa called Bellarosa. We haven’t been back to Kefalonia for over 10yrs so would be interested to hear of any good places to visit ? We will have a car. Thanks

Hello
I’m coming to stay at the Karavados hotel on Monday 23rd September.
I am 69 years old, fit and healthy and travelling on my own. I have been to Kefalonia many times, and I know the area of Karavados, but was wondering if it is safe for female pensioner?
I look forward to your reply
Liz Radwell
Dear Liz, I believe it is a very safe place, enjoy your stay!
