Lassi, located approx. 1.5 km from the capital Argostoli, is one of the most popular tourist resorts on the island. The resort is centred around the main road which has a huge choice of restaurants, bars, cafés, souvenir shops, car hire, supermarkets and travel agencies. Lassi’s beautiful and sandy beaches are also a huge draw for visitors, especially for children as the sea is shallow and there are facilities; Platis Gialos and Makris Gialos Beaches are very popular, whilst Kalamia and Gradakia are quieter. In high season Lassi becomes very busy and the beaches can be quite crowded, but this is because of its popularity with visitors looking for a livelier place to stay. Saint Gerassimos Cave is located in Lassi, it’s a steep walk uphill but worth the trek.
You can walk into Argostoli via the main road (there is also a bus) in about 20 minutes or you can take the more scenic route via the coastal road which takes around 90 minutes. The scenic route takes in Saint Theodore lighthouse or Fanari, the ruins of Thalassomilos, and the strange geological phenomenon of Katavothres. You can take a slight detour and stop to see the Memorial of Acqui Division. If you need to make a stop for a rest and refreshments you could chooset Camping Argostoli.
