It is a very common habit for me to take the car to go for a ride to an unknown destination… and on the way to it, to decide to stop and take a walking trail to discover something new!
Departing from Agia Efimia following the road towards Fiskardo, from the eastern side of the island, with breathtaking Ithaca views, you will stop a few curves before the entrance of the Virgin Mary Monastery of Anatolikon (Adelikon), between Dendrinata and Neohori villages.
This beautiful descent to the sea offers a delightful route through lush vegetation, great sea views and numerous goats… You may need to enter some fenced goat enclosures, so make sure you close the fence behind you. The route is quite steep at some points but the taste of wild figs at the end and the secluded beautiful beach of Kapsolimionas will compensate for the effort.
You will probably swim alone here!
The beach is also reached by boat, from Agia Efimia port.
The guided option from an experienced guide is highly recommended, as a more exciting and certainly safer option. Whatever your interests and level of fitness we can arrange your ideal hiking day or even holiday in Kefalonia. Contact us to book a unique day out in Kefalonian nature!

Gorgeous photos, and another little hidden gem to add to the list of places to discover when I return to my favourite island. Really enjoy reading your posts, Anna.
Thank you Andrew!!!
Hi Anna, how long did it take you to walk to the beach, please? This is now on my list of new Trails for walking. Many thanks – your posts are always interesting

With the kids it will be nice to explore ancient Sami and the watermills and Farsa old village (I will be uploading a post soon-but you can find the trail starting at the beginning of the new village)!
Good morning Anna, I’d like to reach Kapsolimionas beach.
Can I park the car in the monastery area?
Is there a signed footpath to the beach?
Thank you very much…Simone
Thank you for your message! No there is no sign, it is a little before Neohori on a big turn, there is some spaces there to park the car
Hi Anna, I think i’m on the wrong way.
I follow a long long white stone path, then i moved through two building for animals and now the stone path is finish.
I have a long iron fence on my left but now trees close my way.
I think i have to come back
You had to open the fence but maybe now it is too late?
Yes, i’m walking up to the car!
But i’ve tried!
Thank you so much anyway
