Hey Anna! I was wondering about your experience on the Fteri beach and how to get there. I am traveling to Greece mid April with my Fiancé and we haven’t decided which island to go visit. I have always been drawn to Crete and Santorini as well.

Hi, you can walk to the other beaches only if you have a guide with you and it is going to be very hot! I don’t recommend it, there are taxi services and boat rental that we could arrange.
Hi Anna, great site – many thanks. Is Fteri beach walkable with two children from the nearest road? Does it have a steep climb up / down? If so, how far? I can see it on google maps but that doesn’t show the terrain well. : ) thanks.

Thank you for your message! Camping is not allowed freely in the island, you can only camp (legally) on the two organised camp sites, in Sami and Argostoli. You can spend the day there and come back at night if you go on foot or renta boat for a day

Hi Anna – I love your site! My wife’s family is from Kefalonia and we are coming in June/July to revisit her roots. We want to hire a boat to explore the westside beaches including Fteri, Myrtos, etc. Is the sea generally calm or is there a lot of swell? We are comfortable with the sailing (and the swimming) the question is how safe it is to anchor so we can go ashore. Some photos make it look very calm, so very rough. I’m sure it varies, but is it typically very rough or generally calm in late June and early July?
