The footpath leads to the old Venetian Lighthouse of Fiskardo and to the ruins of a unique monument, the most prominent pre-Christian basilica (6th-8th century) of the Ionian Sea Islands.
This is a very easy path starting from the end of the port of Fiskardo, offering great views of the village. The visit to the lighthouses will take you approx 15min and you can come the same way back to the village or do a circular walk (check the relevant signs)
Part of the path is covered in the rich coastal cypress forest, perennial pines, oaks and arbutus of the Erissos peninsula of Fiskardo, providing enough shade for travellers to meander without worries even in the summer time.
This is a great walk for families and individuals, when my son was 4 years old took this lovely trail together.
The site is now renovated and you can only visit the lighthouse when there is an exhibition.
