Fanari beach is located between the watermills of Katavothres and St. Theodores Lighthouse and opposite the peninsula of Lixouri. It is a spectacle itself as the ferry comes and goes in front of the lucky visitor while he enjoys the sight of the route that crosses various villages of Kefalonia in between the two peninsulas. The visitor also takes pleasure in looking the view of the island’s mountain range. As it often gets windy, Fanari is the perfect spot for surfers and kiters who would like to give it a try (remember to bring your own equipment). The beach is quiet, has no organised facilities and is suitable for families and children.
There are also two more smaller coves next to the lighthouse.
You can get refreshments or snacks at Camping Argostoli located right behind the main beach. The beach is very close to Argostoli centre and one could visit it on foot!
