Travelling through traditional villages on route to Fiskardo you will make two stops for photo opportunities – there are some amazing views to savour! Spend a few hours exploring this quaint and picturesque fishing village, it’s easy to stroll around as the flat harbour front is where most of the action takes place. You’ll have enough time to peruse the shops and boutiques, enjoy a cocktail, have a meal on the harbour side and watch the world go by and the yachts of the rich and famous come and go from the port! If you feel more energetic you can explore and admire the colourful pre-earthquake houses in the backstreets, or take in the Roman Cemetery or the Venetian Lighthouse and Byzantine Basillica (light permitting).

Join the North of Kefalonia excursion and take in three major attractions in one day – Myrtos Beach, Assos and Fiskardo!
The first stop of the day gives you the opportunity to visit Myrtos one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You can swim in the amazing turquoise water, take a stroll along the sand, or just relax and absorb the views! Don’t forget your camera! Moving on to Fiskardo the views are amazing as you travel along the coastal road and through the traditional villages and beautiful countryside of the region of Erissos. Arriving in Fiskardo you will have plenty of time to explore this colourful and cosmopolitan harbour and village, one of the best preserved one the island. Stroll along the seafront and try some local dishes and fresh seafood, do a spot of shopping at the boutiques and shops, or visit some of the interesting sights in the village. You can walk the flat and easy Faros Trail to the Venetian Lighthouse and Byzantine Basilica, it takes around 15 minutes and as well as seeing these historical monuments you get fabulous views of Fiskardo as you look back over the harbour. The Roman Cemetery , discovered in 2006, is a short walk from the centre of the village and is almost perfectly preserved. End your day with a relaxing coffee or ice cream in the extraordinary scenic village of Assos – there are a few cafes clustered around the village square situated near the waterfront and around it you will find amazing views of the harbour and of the castle on the opposite hill. Or if you feeling energetic you can take the paved road up to the Venetian castle as it offers some great views of the peninsula and the village. The church of the Prophet Elias can be found about half way up the footpath to the castle, it was built in 1888 on the ruins of another small church dating from 1500.

Take the Island Highlights excursion and see Kefalonia’s most magical and popular attractions in one day!
The day begins with a visit to the magnificent subterranean world of Drogarati Cave where you can view the stunning natural art of the stalagmites and stalactites, one of the rare geological highlights of the island! Moving on to region of Omala, located at the foot of Mount Ainos you will visit Saint Gerasimos Monastery where the saints relics lie in a beautiful silver casket. The interior of the monastery is intricately decorated and the surrounding area is well kept with great views. The next stop is in the same area at the Robola Cooperative Winery where you have the opportunity to sample some of Kefalonia’s famous wines before moving on to Saint Georges Castle – an historic landmark with great views located in the pretty village of Kastro. On the way to Argostoli, the capital of the island, you will pass the Fanari Lighthouse and the strange geological phenomena of Katavothres. You will have plenty of time for lunch, shopping or more sightseeing in Argostoli before heading off for one of the best photo spot on the island above the stunning Myrtos Beach. The last visit of the day is to the mysterious and magical Melissani Lake– a truly amazing sight!!!

Explore the neighbouring island of Mythical Ithaka with a full day excursion!
Take the short ferry journey over to Ithaka and discover the island that gave birth to Homer’s Odyssey, an island rich in natural beauty and steeped in tradition. First stop is the capital Vathy where you can explore the charming narrow back streets, browse the shops and visit the local museum or have coffee with the locals in the main square. The excursion continues on to Kathara Monastery which is perched on the highest point of the island and is the perfect spot to take in the amazing views of the whole island, so don’t forget your camera!, before winding down into the village of Stavros. This village is a traditional island village, with a beautiful church, an archaeological museum and central square. You will have the opportunity for lunch at the picturesque sea-side village of Kioni, it’s an idyllic and charming place to stroll around, watch the fishing boats and visitors come and go from the harbour. You will then head back through the beautiful scenery of the island to return to the port to cross to Sami.
