The Byzantine Basilica of Fiskardo dates back to the 6th century AD. An impressive Venetian Lighthouse “Faros” is still standing there with a later British built replacement at the back. The remains of a Byzantine Basilica stand nearby. In 2018 an extensive renovation programme took place to preserve the lighthouse, which unfortunately is now closed to the public. A 2019 Art Exhibition saw the lighthouse re-open for a week, we hope that it will re-open in the future for visitors to admire. You can read more about the exhibition and renovation here
